Mission Trips or Church Planting Locations
We spend much of our time walking the streets and going to parks where we can meet people and share the good news. We have had many good conversations with people and have already seen 5-7 people come to faith! Our Father is also demonstrating His power and authority through healings. We have seen 7 people miraculously healed!! Just this morning one of our team members met with a man who had been in a terrible accident many years ago -- his leg was badly deformed and several inches shorter than his other leg. Our team member prayed for Him and literally saw the man's leg grow about 4 inches until it was even with his other leg. He is now completely healed. Wow! (Elevate school outreach in Thailand; June 2009)
Last Friday Kent and Dan prayed for a woman named Elizabeth. She could not see out of her right eye at all, plus she could barely open it. Immediately after prayer, Dan held up some fingers just a few inches from her eye and asked her what she saw. She reported she could see fingers, though she couldn't tell how many. They prayed some more. After a little while, Dan asked her to look at his fingers again; this time Dan stood across the room. She told him the correct number of fingers, plus she looked at her granddaughter and told her she could see her. And her good eye was covered! God opens blind eyes!
Since the team arrived in Oceanview, (Capetown, South Africa) they have seen 80 salvations, about 40 healings, over a dozen baptisms, and have now planted 3 HOUSE CHURCHES!!!! People are going through the lessons, leading their friends to Jesus, and growing in the grace of God! South Africa 2/14/09
One of the team member's housekeeper gave her life to Jesus and was baptized during an evangelism conference the team had last week!!! Our team leader was able to show the Jesus film to six adults and multiple children this past week! Sri Lanka 4/9/07
Three weeks ago, "Salim" was diagnosed with Lukemia. The believers prayed for him to be healed. Three days later, he went to a second hospital to have another blood test. This hospital declared him healthy. To double check, he returned to the first hospital, and they reconfirmed that their blood test showed that he had leukemia! Praise God! Salim was either healed or the first hospital was mistaken! Either way, praise God. Salim thought he was going to die, and now he is healthy.....please pray that this results in Salim putting his trust in Jesus! Clint: Middle East Church Planter 3/15/07
Around 9PM one night last summer on our short-term trip to the Middle East, we were doing outreach on the Corniche (seawall). We were doing a drama about the life/death/resurrection of Jesus ("Life or Death"). There was a crowd of 200+ (mainly Muslims) watching the drama and when Jesus "rose" they began to cheer. A man came out and began confronting us yelling "Allah hu akhbar"...a Muslim rallying cry. He told us we had no business doing that kind of drama there and that he couldn't guarantee our safety. We decided it was best to move back to our apartment and worship/intercede for the rest of the night. One of the believers associated with our team had brought his Muslim brother that night to the outreach. We were disappointed because we thought he would have a bad taste in his mouth after the incident. He went back to the apartment with us and we all worshipped for two hours. He seemed to be touched by the Spirit as we worshipped God. Later, we found out that as he watched the drama, he felt like his body became like water and seemed like he was flying to Jesus! Over the course of the next week, he had 3 dreams. In one, he saw a glowing man that he knew was Jesus. In another, he dreamed that he was being baptized by Clint, though he didn't know what baptism was. In another, he dreamed that HE was sharing the gospel! At the end of the week, he told his brother that he wanted to follow Jesus. He is now growing in God and has even written a worship song. David: College Section Leader 3/6/07
A year ago, a girl named Liz was saved. She came from a totally unchurched background, and it was so beautiful to watch Jesus reveal Himself to her and heal much of the shame and hurt she carried. Liz has been growing spiritually, and God has been stirring her heart for others as well. She met another young lady in a pub a few months ago, named Lorna, and began to establish a friendship with her. Liz shared with Lorna what Jesus had done in her life. This was a crucial and timely moment in Lorna's life where she was very broken had looking for ‘more'. She eagerly listened. Two weeks ago, Lorna gave her life to Jesus at a Lifegroup (strangely enough, exactly one year after Liz had met God). Lorna is so hungry for God, it's been amazing to see the transformation. Prayer Center
Our section was in the prayer room Sun, Mon, and Tues night for about 2 hrs/night last week. On Tuesday morning, I finished my run late and didn't have time to stretch before work (which is bad!). My hip started hurting pretty early in the day, and as the day went on, it got worse and worse. It felt like my hip socket was popping every step I took. By the time we got to the prayer room at 10:30pm, my hamstrings were tightening up as well, and for some reason, my side felt like it was bruised (seems unrelated, I know). Toward the end, I asked people to pray for me, simply because the bearathon was coming up on saturday and I paid big bucks for it. There were probable 10 hands on me, but one was right on my hip socket, and the second Davin Allen started praying, I felt fire, like it was kind of hot and a bit painful, like I was getting burned, and I was afraid my pants would melt!! Afteward Becca Mayhew (who had her hand on my uninjured socket, but on the same spot on the other side of my body) said that she could feel it going through me and heating her hand! Also, it felt like someone was massaging my hip socket, but I looked down (oh practical me!) and no one was...Just a still hand of fire rested on my hip. Anyway, they prayed for a while. Finally, I said they could stop praying because I thought I was healed. But, I needed to move around to make sure I was healed...AND I was/am!!!
