Annual Women's Conference | October 24-25, 2008
God is stirring the lives of women everywhere. He is skillfully and creatively painting passion and meaning on the canvas of our hearts and souls. At this moment in time, God is transforming you-His beautiful creation-to touch the world as only you can.

World Mandate | January 23-25, 2009
Join us to celebrate a passion for Jesus and His purposes in the Earth. World Mandate, our annual missions conference, will take place January 23-25, 2009 at Baylor's Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas.

Church Planting Church Conference | November 10-12, 2008
How do we impart vision to our people for the task? Are cells (multiplying small groups) effective for every age group? What kind of training is needed for those called overseas? What about pastoral care and counseling issues for missionaries on the field? What is the strategic process for planting a church?

Those questions help shape our conference... designed to inspire and equip church leaders as they seek to become a church-planting church. We provide this in an intimate environment where our pastoral leadership is able serve you throughout the conference.

Church Planting Church Conference
November 10-12, 2008

Every few years, we have felt God call us to open up our doors to encourage and train church pastors, staff, and missionaries in becoming a church that can change the world. In the past, these events have given us a chance to give away everything that we have learned and given you a more intimate forum to be ignited with vision and to be given implementation strategies for planting churches.

In order to maintain a relational atmosphere, we have limited the conference, IGNITE, to the first 300 registrants. This will allow our staff more time to get to know you, hear your story, and encourage you along in the journey. We are sending this invitation to you as part of “round one” of invitations. If there are still registration slots open after August 31st, then we will mail this invitation to a larger mailing list. So, make sure you register before August 31st!

We have so much to learn about becoming more effective in our church planting endeavors. But, there are some things that we have learned, through trial and error, during our training and oversight processes of our 200 adult missionaries that are currently involved in church planting in the US and overseas. We’d love to pass some of our learnings along to you at this conference. We plan to include worship and ministry, envisioning talks, and breakout sessions to help train you in the practicals. Bring your team and come ready to learn! This conference is designed to help missionaries before they launch into church planting and to help churches form a pathway for training and sending missionaries from their church to touch the world.

The conference is November 10-12 (Monday through Wednesday) and is only $75 each, including lunch each of the three days. Registration price increases to $100 after October 1st.

International Adoption - International Adoption

During the past two years, the people of Antioch Community Church have been stirred by God for international adoption. However, international adoptions typically range from $20,000 to $30,000. We believe this cost has been the greatest hurdle for families that are interested in adopting.

As we prayed about what part we could play in reaching orphans and facilitating adoptions, God led us to Cathy Sones, director of Generations Adoptions. We found a spirit-led agency that was willing to collaborate with Antioch, and a partnership was birthed to facilitate international adoptions through the local church.

Our idea is to utilize people within the local church, namely social workers, doctors, lawyers, and missionaries, to fill the necessary roles that make adoptions possible. This will be done under the direction of an excellent and experienced adoption agency. Through these efforts we will be able to help families in our churches overcome the financial barriers to international adoption.

Spring Training Series April, 2008

When Jimmy called the church to a fast this last week, my husband and I decided we should do so since we both desired to get closer to God and had not fasted in a very long time; and I myself had been feeling somewhat apathetic - I didn't seem to have much joy either. Fasting was hard and gave us a new appreciation for food, which we thought of quite a lot. But our times with God were sweet. When the fast was over I didn't notice any change - until the following day. I have renewed joy and even more energy now. I find I have rekindled desire to spend more time with God and be in His Word. I care so much more for others, and I know this does not come from me. I want more of Him! My husband also is even more wonderful now - how God has blessed our marriage! How true it is that we can NEVER out give God. The more we give, the more He gives back to us "pressed down, shaken together and running over". Praise God, what a mighty God we serve!
A Sister in Christ

Physical Healing at our Service on February 25, 2007

Caroline had gone to 14 different schools growing up including private schools and boarding schools trying to get help for her Dyslexia. She came to Baylor with a 3rd grade reading level and a first grade spelling level. The desire of her heart was to go into counseling. But, with her disability, she did not know how she could get into graduate school. While Robert was preaching on the supernatural, she wondered if God would heal her. Then, Susan Peters shared a word of knowledge from the front that God wanted to heal people with learning disabilities, especially ones concerning reading. She came up and had a young woman pray for her and said her head felt really heavy. Then she approached Susan for prayer. While Susan was praying, she again felt her head become heavy and then felt like two wires just snapped and uncrossed. Immediately, she could tell she was healed. She approached Robert to testify, and he asked her if she had tried to read yet. He gave her a small Bible with tiny print, and she could read perfectly!

One of the most amazing circumstances surrounding this healing is that when Caroline called to tell her parents, they wept because that morning their pastor in Georgia had prayed with them and told them that he believed that God was going to bless one of their family members with a healing that day! For the past week, Caroline has been able to read perfectly. She says that she has been able to get more sleep because she does not have to spend ridiculous amounts of time in the library. And to top it all off she made her first "A" ever in college on a Chemistry test this past week!

For most people, their twenties and thirties are filled with a series of rapid life transition. With a new sense of freedom also comes a new sense of responsibilities and tough choices. What am I doing with my life? Where should I live? Who will I marry? Will I marry? What does life look like with babies? Through these shifting seasons of life, we believe Jesus Christ is our rock of stability and security. With all our searching it is only through Christ and the church that we will ultimately find the intimacy and purpose for which our hearts long.

Our young adults' ministry offers biblical community that worships Jesus and reflects the values of His Kingdom though every season of life, in every realm of society and across every boundary of the world so that all people might glorify God and enjoy him forever. Our Lifegroups, FOCUS, and short-term mission trips are just a few of the expressions God has given us in this ministry to be passionate, relevant lovers of Jesus.

LIFEGROUPS
Our 40 cell groups are the foundation of our ministry. These groups include a range from: singles groups to young married couples groups to emerging families groups with young children to a mixture of all three. There is a place for you here to find community and a place to serve.

Feel free to call Laura Storm at the church office or email her to find out which group might be best for you. You may also search for a Young Adult Lifegroup online here.

We believe that God yearns for every believer to communicate with Him through prayer, both through personal devotional time and times of personal or corporate intercession.

God has called us to stand in the gap for one another, for our city, our nation, and the nations of the world 24 hours a day. Around the clock, we have people working in some of the most difficult nations in the world; there are things happening in our city and in peoples lives that need partnership in prayer. It has always been the heart of God to partner with men and women to see His manifest love, power, and grace abounding. We have been invited into this incredible journey. We believe that it will be characterized by joy, worship, perseverance, and literally thousands of answered prayers.

You are welcome to come to the 24/7 Prayer Center anytime of the day or night. There should be facilitators in the center to help you and resources and instructions in the room to help you meet with God. Please consult the church office about the access code to the prayer center.

We have been invited by God to ask and keep asking, to seek and keep seeking, to knock and keep knocking because He longs to hear us and answer and show us who He is. He longs to open the doors for lives to be transformed. Won't you partner with us in this fresh move of God's Spirit around the world as we pray 24/7?

Last Sunday morning, I introduced the opportunity to purchase the Mr. Rooter building on the corner of Fort Dr. and 20th Ave. God has continually blessed us and given us vision to expand as opportunities become available in our neighborhood. The building owners were so gracious to give us first opportunity to purchase this facility!

The leadership has prayed and are sure that God is leading us to purchase this property. As we grow, there are so many needs that continue to arise facility-wise. Currently, we plan to use this building with either our training schools or our urban ministry. The additional building space and parking will be instrumental in our Vision20 planning process.

We are committed to buying all of our facilities debt free; therefore, here is a simple plan that the Lord has put before us: that each adult would give $80 and each child $8 on February 17th towards the building cost. Obviously, if you feel God is leading you to give more than $80, we encourage you to do that. We believe that the purchase price of $160,000 can be raised in one day!

Remember that God is an abundant provider! Bring this before the Lord by praying and asking God to show you how He wants you to contribute.

Parents, I want to encourage you to have your kids pray and work for their $8 by doing chores around the house. We want everyone to feel a sense of ownership.

We love you, we are proud of you, and we are so grateful and thankful for being able to lead such a giving people. We look forward to a great day on February 17th and plenty of tremendous stories of how God provided the $80 for everyone to be able to give.

In His Strength and Love,
Jimmy and the Elders

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." II Corinthians 9:7-8

The STARS tutorial program has been highly successful in allowing the church to holistically minister to kids and families in our neighborhood. We are able to meet their spiritual needs in children's and urban youth life groups and then meet their academic/mentoring needs through the college students that tutor them. We have seen neighborhood kid's lives changed through the program. STARS has recently developed an in-school mentoring program that any adult in the church can participate in. As an in-school mentor you will have the opportunity to invest in one child's life for 30 minutes a week at their school. For more information watch the VIDEO and email the STARS director, Kami Suttle.

...the people around me that prayed for my knee at Wed. night's prayer rally. Someone from the front had said that God wanted to heal a knee that night. Just thought you'd be encouraged to know that there is NO pain anymore! I can get down on my knees, put weight on my right knee, crawl around on the floor with Jeremy and all the babies I serve in the nursery . . . all of which I have not been able to do for the past 5 or 6 weeks. There was a "pressure point" that I could barely touch and it would send pain radiating out from the knee. I can't find that "point" anymore! Wow! Praise God! Carla 1/16/08

Wednesday night at our Dwelling Place healing time, I responded to a word of knowledge about gastro-intestinal sickness. I've had problems in this area for about three years now, and it is both annoying and often uncomfortable. I've had to regulate my diet because of it and regularly take medicine. The people around me began praying for me, and I began to feel lots of heat as one of the girls had her hand on my stomach. As far as I have been able to tell, my stomach was healed! Wednesday night at our Dwelling Place healing time, I responded to a word of knowledge about gastro-intestinal sickness. I've had problems in this area for about three years now, and it is both annoying and often uncomfortable. I've had to regulate my diet because of it and regularly take medicine. Allie 3/7/07

When Caleb had a word about healing, I went up to get prayed for. I've had extreme pain in my right hand for the past year. We weren't sure if it was the beginnings of arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome. It was getting hard to even open a water bottle! Every time I picked up my kids it ached...when I did simple things like pouring milk, or even carrying a cup of coffee. I couldn't grip the steering wheel either...anyways, not anymore! It's been almost two weeks now, and it hasn't hurt a bit. Praise Jesus!! I'm in awe of the powerful God we serve, and i'm so thankful to walk with a body that believes in the power of His Holy Spirit. Becky 2/25/07

Taylor came to church Sunday with his brother JL. He had recently jammed his thumb and was still experiencing pain and an inability to fully move and bend it. When the ministry time started, Taylor and JL prayed awkwardly for one another and sat down to continue singing. JL waited for a few minutes and built up the courage to ask Taylor how his thumb felt. Taylor started to shrug his shoulders but tested his thumb out by bending it. JL said Taylor's face went white as he looked down at his thumb which had been completely healed. Taylor just kept moving it back and forth without saying anything, totally astonished. They ended up praising God together. This was momentous for Taylor who was blown away that the God of the universe would be concerned about a jammed thumb and step into his world so dramatically. Go God! Mick 2/25/07

We prayed with one lady whose back and right leg had been hurting. She had been on medication for both and after we prayed the pain significantly decreased. With tears in her eyes she was so grateful!!! Allison 2/25/07

I prayed with a young girl for healing of a fever she has had now for a while. As I was praying I just felt impressed to pray for her eyes. I saw a liquid balm being poured over her eyes and that Jesus wanted to touch her eyes. Afterwards I asked the girl how she was feeling and with tears flowing down her cheeks she said that she felt better and that she had needed to go to the eye doctor because it had felt like contact or something had been stuck in her eye and was causing great pain. After praying there was no pain and no need for the doctor. Allison 2/25/07

I broke a rib in a car accident and had a big knot in that spot. I was prayed for on Sunday, but wasn't really in much pain at that time (it comes and goes), so I didn't really think much of it at that point. A little bit later I was worshiping again and put my hand on that spot and realized that the knot was gone. I was really excited and told my husband to feel the spot...he did. I still have some pain, but nothing like before, and the huge knot is completely gone! Praise GOD! I can play with and hold my kids so much easier. Becca 2/25/07

In '99, Brian (my husband) had five herniated disks in his back and had to have back surgery. In 2003, he was in a car accident and herniated a sixth disk. Since then, he has been in almost constant excruciating pain, especially at work. He couldn't do any kind of physical labor without pain and can hardly sleep at night. Myself and another lady laid our hands on the spot that hurts him the most and prayed for him on Sunday. He has had only very minor discomfort since. He has been going crazy since, cutting down tress is our back yard, hauling wood, doing yard work, and all the other things he wanted to do before but couldn't because of the pain. He said "look, I can bend over and touch my toes!" Becca 2/25/07

My ears had been real clogged for like three days and it was hard to hear. On Sunday, I went up and got prayed for. Someone was praying for me and laid hands on my ears but nothing was happening. So, she kept praying and still nothing happened. So, I went to the back of the church and kept praying and even laid my own hands on my ears. Finally, I was in my car still praying knowing that God could heal. While I was driving I heard this ringing, and I looked for my phone but realized that my phone doesn't make that kind of noise. I could hear the music a lot better. It showed me that God doesn't just heal in the "church" He can heal anywhere and he healed me in my car. Praise Jesus!--anonymous

Tracy had not been to Antioch in about two years, and she was excited to come and visit and to see her friend get baptized. She has breast cancer, and we gathered around her to pray. Interestingly, when I laid my hand on Tracy, the left side of my lower back started hurting. We prayed for God to heal the cancer, and then I asked Tracy if she also had back pain, and she said yes. I asked her if it was in her lower back on her left side, and she said yes. She said that she had a cracked vertebrae, the second vertebrae from the bottom, and that she had severe pain. I told her that since my back had started to hurt when I laid hands on her, I believed that the Lord wanted to heal her back. She was eager to receive prayer. We prayed for her back for several minutes and asked how she was doing, and she said that she was still in pain and that nothing had changed.

I confirmed that she had given her whole heart to Jesus. She earnestly said that she had. We prayed more, and I felt God speak that we needed to repent as a group for not submitting to authority. If we are insisting that demons submit to the authority of Jesus, then we need to be submitted to Him as well. I repented on behalf of all of these women (and myself!) for a lack of submission to God, to husbands, to pastors, and other men in authority. We all knelt down together. Something broke. Tracy started crying and smiling, and she said the pain was completely gone.

I clarified to see if it was "mostly gone" to see if we needed to pray more, and she said, "No- it is COMPLETELY gone!" I asked her, "What is something that you couldn't do before because of the pain?" and she replied, "Reach down and touch my toes." We encouraged her to get up and do it, and she did, with a very giddy look on her face. She immediately wanted to testify- she was so excited. She went up to the stage and was able to share on the microphone. It was awesome! Christi 2/25/07

Jimmy Seibert, the Senior Pastor at Antioch, has served in full-time ministry since 1987 after graduating from Baylor University the prior year. He and his wife, Laura, have four children ranging in ages from 8 to 18.

Jimmy, tell us about your family. I may be a little biased but I think I have the most wonderful family in the world. Laura and I have been married for 20 years. I am so grateful and thankful to God for a woman who fears the Lord and has walked with me in partnership all these years. Abby is 18 years old and loves Jesus with all her heart. She is starting her senior year in high school and looking to go to college soon.Lauren is 14 and starting her sophomore year in school. She is a delightful joy to our lives and a woman of deep conviction and resolve.Caleb is 13 and is a true worshipper of God. Caleb is a great student and athlete.Daniel is 8 years old and in 3rd grade. He is such a blessing to our lives. When we were praying through whether to have another child we felt like God said "If you have another one it will truly be a blessing". Obviously all children are a blessing from the Lord, but Daniel is a unique blessing to us. He is kind, loving, and a total joy to a parent.

Laura and I have often prayed that our children would far exceed us in anything we have seen God do or that we have experienced in His Kingdom.

When did you sense God's call to start Antioch Community Church? When Laura and I first started the training school in 1987, we had a heart to see a process happen where young and old alike would work together through the church to see God's glory around the earth. Ten years into it, in 1997, we began to dialogue with the leadership at Highland Baptist Church about the possibilities of planting a church. Highland Baptist was an incredible blessing to us by allowing us to live out dreams and visions we never thought possible. They not only birthed us but taught us, led us, and mentored us in how to do church well. We were blessed and sent out to begin Antioch Community Church in 1999.

What do you want people to most remember you for? I pray people will remember me as one who walked what he taught...that I didn't merely ask people to do things that I wasn't willing to do myself...that I continued to follow Jesus all the days of my life...that the world was impacted because of my wholehearted devotion to Him.

What do you like to do for fun? I love to be with my family doing just about anything. I love to be with my friends, especially in a competitive sporting event. In recent years, I have loved to play golf (I am not that good at it, but one of these days I will be).

What do you look forward to most about Heaven? I think I look most forward to seeing Jesus face to face and living in His Presence continually.

Junior High and High school students can "waste" their time in a variety of ways, but our youth ministry is not one of them. We strive to offer an exciting and spiritually testing atmosphere. Our driving purpose is to see a passion for Jesus grow in the hearts of each of our students. Junior High and High School each meet weekly for youth services and Lifegroups. There, we hope to encourage the students into a deeper and more meaningful life with Jesus through intimate worship, sound biblical teaching and honest accountability.

Discover God's unchanging purpose as it unfolds from Genesis to Revelation. Historical - We must look back to plan ahead. See how God has worked throughout history to extend his kingdom. Strategic - How does God accomplish his plan? See how global efforts are strategizing to work where God is already working. Cultural - What should the church look like in other cultures? Is there a right answer? Learn how God has created other world views and cultures and prepared them to receive the Gospel.

Melinda Seibert - Guest Speaker

Melinda has been married for 23 years to David Seibert (Jimmy's brother). They have three children: Preston(20) who attends McLennan Community College and is involved at ACC; Brandon(17); and Stephanie(10).

In 1981, after graduating from Texas A&M, Melinda was part of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading squad for three years (1981-83). She was a Group Leader and on the Show Group team, traveling on five USO tours to Korea, Philippines, Turkey, Lebanon, Greece, Indian Ocean fleet, Diego Garcia, and Egypt. But she knew there had to be more. She kept asking, "What's my purpose in life?" In August 1983, she found her purpose through Jesus Christ and gave her life to him.

Melinda says, "Although many consider the cheerleading such an awesome thing (and it was a great experience),'I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ-the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith' (Phil 3:8-9)."

Melinda was a stay-at-home mom for seventeen years. Seven years ago, her family moved from Plano, Texas to Brentwood, Tennessee. For the past three years, Melinda has served as the director of women's ministries at Fellowship Bible Church there. During this time, she also traveled to Lietnhom, Sudan on a short-term mission trip. She loves calling women to use their gifts for the glory of God.

The verse she keeps ever before her is... "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:37-39).

It is pure joy to her that God has given her this opportunity to be with the women at ACC. May He be glorified.
